About Us
Coventry u3a is part of a national organisation dedicated to the promotion of education, leisure and knowledge among older people who are retired and no longer in full time employment. It is one of three u3a’s based in Coventry.
- Coventry u3a is made up of around 290 members who are actively involved in over 20 social, leisure and learning groups. Individual members and groups of members organise and run these groups using their own knowledge and expertise. You do not need qualifications to join and none are awarded.
- General Meetings are held at St Barbara's Church Hall either once or twice a month (depending on the time of year). An interesting selection of speakers are invited to talk on a topic of general interest. These meetings are also important for sharing information with members on group activities, visits and holidays. Full details of future General Meeting can be found on the EVENTS page.
- New members are always welcome. You may visit two meetings either a general meeting or activity group before joining. New members who would like to run a group of their own choosing, using their skills and expertise are most welcome and would be fully supported by the group coordinator.
- Our annual membership fee is currently £15 with an additional £3.60 charged for members who would like a copy of ‘Third Age Matters’ – the national U3A magazine sent out directly. Membership subscriptions are due by the 31st March.
